In the few last years the Uttarakhand state came forth as one of the most desiring industrial destination in India. The involution of the government privately in all segment of the industrial activities helped so much to the big industrial groups. Consequently the large companies like HLL and Dabur have settled their unit here. In 2003 it was declared by the state government to do the regulatory frame work for the development of the industry on an extensive scale. This government policy may be applied to advance the Integrated Industrial Estates in Uttarakhand. As we know that the Uttarakhand city is famous for its scenic beauty, religious shrines, glaciers, mountains and lakes etc. that is the very reason that most of the industries are of tourism and 80% of it are from Uttar Pradesh.

Rolling Mills, Paper Mills, Sugar Mills, Mentha Oil Units and Flour and
Rice Mills on the other side there are Dairy Products, Floriculture,
Production of Rice and Wheat, Horticulture and fish farming sectors.
Haridwar is the great proud of Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL).
750 plots are availed for the 500 units around BHEL. Besides the State
Government, SIDCUL has equity participation from LIC, ICICI and SIDBI.
At Haridwar some reputed industries placed here like Indo Asian
Switchgear Limited, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Vijai Electricals, SBL,
Hero Honda, Controls & Switchgears Limited, ITC, Mahindra &
Mahindra and many more. There are also SGV electronic industries with
250 trained and professional workers. There is PSU industries at the
side of bypass road, was estabilished in the year of 1964 having over
8000 employers. The state government paid 20 crores to the company for
the industrialization in Uttarakhand state. This led the Haridwar city
to be turned into a big industrial city in the state of Uttarakhand.
